Eight Disorderly Conduct, Improper Behavior Arrests in Belmar

Police report activity from first two weeks of July

The steady surge of tourists and out-of-town partiers seemingly kept Belmar police busy last month as they reported making eight arrests for disorderly conduct and improper behavior during the first half of July.

Police nearly made the same number of related arrests the previous two weeks, when nine were charged, bringing the total of individuals arrested and charged with either offense to 28 since the beginning of June, according to police statistics.

A majority of the the most recently reported arrests took place during the long Independence Day holiday weekend, according to a department release.
