Cops: Student Charged After School Finds 'Hit List'

A Lacey Township High School student was charged with criminal mischief

A Lacey Township High School student was charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly wrote what police described as a ‘hit list’ on a desk.

Police were called in on Tuesday, Feb. 28 after the juvenile had written four names on the desk. But the names appeared to be the student’s friends.

He was charged with only criminal mischief because the incident appeared to be a joke, police said.

The school district did not say whether he was suspended because they do no comment on student matters, school board president Jack Martenak said.

Superintendent Dr. Sandra Brower was not immediately available for comment.

@amiapinie I do agree with you that this incident and all others have to be thoroughly looked into, especially with all of the school violence across the nation. As far as embarrassing her kids or friend I cannot respond to that since I do not know how they feel about it. I did see Angel apologized & she accepted, but they both deleted their posts. I think many on here, including Dana, realized their comments were getting too personal & out of hand. Maybe a suggestion would be is to have the school inform the parents of these types of high urgency incidents to avoid everyone speculating. If I had a kid in the high school I would want to be notified by the school themselves of what happened & how it was handled. As far as you knowing her I would suggest calling her to tell her how silly she sounded on here. You & I don't have to agree on how we think these posts presented but I do agree with you on how the irresponsibility this day & age of writing any kind of list on a desk deserves to be handled how the school see fit. I just wish they were more informative to the parents other than this short article on The Patch.

I can assure you I am not her but okay I agree with you there, consider the discussion dead. I do get a kick out of your screen name though, I would have guessed you were from the Pt Pleasant area. Let's hope no more incidents like this arise in the schools again. There is enough to deal with with the burglaries, drugs, and other crimes as of late.
