Brielle Woman Jailed After High-Speed Chase In Wall

A Brielle woman who lead police on a high-speed chase through a residential neighborhood in a stolen car was arrested in the early morning hours of Monday morning, authorities said.

Teresa Meakem, 19, was stopped by Wall Police around 1:36 a.m. for a traffic violation. Police were unaware at the time that the car she was driving was stolen sometime after midnight or that Meakem had $4,500 in outstanding warrants, Sgt. Heath Bono said.

While police were talking to Meakem, she sped off, nearly hitting the officers, and raced through the Sea Girt Estates neighborhood at high speed, Bono said.
