Brielle Police: Wall Man Had 'Bath Salts' Drug, Charged With Simple Assault

Incident occurred April 11 in Brielle

Brielle Police responded to an alleged incident of simple assault and later charged a man with trying to hurt a victim's face as well as with drug possession.

Jack Ryan, 38, of Hickory Lane in Wall, was charged with simple assault and possession a controlled dangerous substance in Brielle on April 11. The drug was so-called Bath Salts, and the charge of possession is a fourth degree crime. 

The simple assault, a disorderly persons offense, occured April 11 in Briell, according to court documents.

The simple assault charge stems from an incident last week, where a woman was assaulted, causing injuries on her face, according to the police report.

Ryan was charged and was being held on $2,500 bail.
