Bradley Beach Man Faces Burglary, Terror Charges

Grand jury indictment stems from separate incidents in Avon, Belmar

A Bradley Beach man was indicted last week on charges of burglary and terroristic threats stemming from two February incidents in Avon-By-The-Sea and Belmar, documents show.

Jason Bernardinello, 39, of Monmouth Road, faces second-degree burglary charges after an alleged Feb. 10 incident in Avon-By-The-Sea in which authorities say he unlawfully entered a borough home and threatened to inflict bodily injury on the resident.

Bernardinello is also charged with third-degree terroristic threats stemming from an alleged Feb. 11 incident in Belmar in which authorities say he threatened to commit a crime of violence with the purpose to terrorize the victim.

Bernardinello allegedly threatened to kill the victim, listed only as "D.M.," with the purpose to put him in imminent fear of death under circumstances reasonably causing him to believe the immediacy of the threat and the likelihood that it would be carried out, the indictment says.

The indictment is signed by county Prosecutor Peter E. Warshaw Jr.
