Belmar Woman Charged with Stealing Checks

Arrested last week in the borough, scheduled to appear today in Superior Court

A homeless Belmar woman is scheduled to make her initial Superior Court appearance Wednesday facing charges she allegedly stole checks from a truck parked in the borough last week, documents show.

Kimberly A. Campo, 27, faces third-degree burglary charges stemming from a July 19 incident in which, police say, she entered a 2008 Chevy Silverado parked on A Street and removed checks from a checkbook inside the vehicle.

She was arrested by Belmar Police later that day, the complaint says.

The blank TD Bank checks belonged to LMB Landscaping, the criminal complaint says. The vehicle's owner, however, is not named in the complaint.

Campo is listed in the complaint as being homeless, with a last-known address in Belford.

The alleged burglary charge is a third-degree crime, while the alleged theft of the checks is a disorderly persons offense, the complaint says.

Campo's bail was set at $27,500, court documents show.
