Belmar Still Replacing Stop Signs Lost to Hurricane Sandy

Police chief promises to replace sign at 12th and Bayview

Among the many things strewn about by Hurricane Sandy were several stop signs in Belmar. And one, a resident reported, has yet to be replaced.

The intersection of 12th and Bayview in Belmar is missing a stop sign, and vehicles are blowing through the intersection, creating a dangerous situation, said the resident.

Police Chief Thomas Palmisano said at Wednesday's Borough Council meeting that temporary stop signs were placed throughout the borough, and that the intersection at 12th and Bayview would have one up to replace the one lost in the storm.
