Belmar Police Arrest 8 on Drug-Related Charges

Belmar police during the second half of July made eight drug-related arrests, including one of a Staten Island man for alleged cocaine distribution, according to a department release.

Sulaeman Balogun was arrested July 29 and charged with several counts related to his alleged cocaine distribution as well as resisting arrest and aggravated assault, the release says.

Among the others charged last month, their alleged offenses include marijuana possession and driving while intoxicated.

The following individuals were arrested by Belmar police between July 16 and July 29:

• Jordan Mitchell, 18, of Teaneck, was arrested July 16 at the corner of 16th Avenue and Ocean Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana. Special Officer Aaron Lay made the arrest.

• Travis Blasco, 25, of Matawan, was arrested July 18 at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Ocean Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana. Officer Erik Lieb made the arrest.

• Daniel Murcia, 22, of Ocean, was arrested July 19 at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Main Street and charged with improper behavior and possession of drug paraphernalia. Special Officer Brandon Cox made the arrest.

• John Crook, 28, of Belmar, was arrested July 21 at the corner of 18th Avenue and Ocean Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Special Officer Rocco Belloni made the arrest.

• Kenneth McClure, 45, of New York, N.Y., was arrested July 21 at the corner of 14th Street and A street and charged with possession of marijuana. Special Officer Brandon Cox made the arrest.

• Carly Snodgrass, 22, of Brick, was arrested July 22 at the corner of 18th Avenue and Ocean Avenue and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and driving while intoxicated. Special Officer Aaron Lay made the arrest.
• Sulaeman Balogun, 19, of Staten Island, N.Y., was arrested July 29 at the corner of 13th Avenue and Main Street and charged with distribution of drugs, tampering with evidence, aggravated assault, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, eluding, resisting arrest, manufacture/distribute cocaine, and distribution of cocaine.
