Belmar Blvd. Accident Sends 3 to Hospital

Single vehicle collision leaves one person ejected onto roadway

A single-car accident on Belmar Boulevard Tuesday night, just before 11:30 p.m., sent three people to a hospital, at least one with serious injuries.

According to Wall police:

On Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at approximately 11:24 pm, members of the Wall Township Police Dept. responded to a single vehicle rollover type crash on Belmar Blvd, west of Hwy 35.  As a result of the crash one occupant of the vehicle was ejected onto the roadway.  In total there were three occupants in the vehicle and all three were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment.  Their names are not being released at this time, as appropriate family notifications have not yet been made.  The vehicle, a 2010 Mazda 3, sustained major damage as a result of the crash.  Members of the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) responded and assisted with the investigation of the accident that is on going at the time of this release.  Members of Glendola Fire Co., West Belmar Fire Co., Wall First Aid, Belmar Police Dept. and Belmar First Aid also assisted at the scene.  The roadway was shut for several hours during the investigation. 

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have any relevant information is asked to call the Wall Township Police Dept. at 732-449-4500.  Lead investigators of the crash are Sgt. Chad Clark and Ptl. Brian Mansfield.

Dang. I know that area of the road well. They had to be going pretty dammed fast to roll it over.

A one car rollover? I would not be surprised if DUI was a factor, although sheer stupidity can sometimes produce the same results! I realize sometimes they cannot release names, but approximate ages of the occupants would not have violated any legal/ethics standard in reporting.

I would like to know if the young lady and the two young men are alright this was in is accident that should of never happened this happened by my house the speeders around this area are out of control
