One of the area's largest events is less than a week away: the Belmar-Lake Como St. Patrick's Day Parade is coming Sunday, March 3.
Now in its 40th year, parade day is for many an earnest celebration of Irish heritage, but for others it's simply a reason to be celebrate being Irish for the day.
