Wet Weather Makes For Messy Commute

While no major snow accumulation is expected, a low pressure system will make for a difficult commute

Winter weather moving through the area overnight Monday and into Tuesday will make for a difficult morning commute for Monmouth Shore residents.

An inch of snow falling on Monday night will turn to sleet and freezing rain early Tuesday morning. After 9 a.m. the forecast calls for rain until around 4 p.m.

The National Weather Service enacted a winter weather advisory Monday until Tuesday at 7 a.m.

A Coastal Flood Advisory has also been issued. Minor tidal flooding could occur near high tide between the hours of 4 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Tuesday: Rain, mainly before 4pm. High near 41. Breezy, with a east wind 11 to 21 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. 

Tuesday Night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Northwest wind between 9 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. 

Wednesday: A chance of showers, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 43. West wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
