Water OK, Gas Still Shut Off in Squan

School canceled indefinitely

As of late Wednesday afternoon, there are no water restrictions in Manasquan, officials said.

But gas remains shut off to areas of town after several main breaks were reported earlier. Once repairs are complete, service will continue, borough officials said in a release.

And school is canceled, the release says.

"We cannot guarantee that we will be able to fullfill all of your requests, but we will make every attempt to do so...," the release says.

"Thank you for your patience during this time. As mentioned, internet access and electricity is unavailable in our area. Additionally, cell phone service is poor. As mentioned in an earlier post, these messages are being typed from another part of New Jersey 40 miles North where service is avaiable," the release concludes.
