Power Restored in Manasquan, Belmar? Let Us Know

JCP&L reports handful of outages remain in region

Two weeks after superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc across the region, JCP&L reports only literal handfuls of customers are still without power.

As of Monday morning, the utility says there are only five customers in Belmar who are still dark. JCP&L reports six customers in Manasquan without power.

Nearby, Brielle and Wall are said to have less than five customers without power and there are 10 in the dark in Avon. Sea Girt and Spring Lake Heights are reported as being fully powered.

However, JCP&L has often been criticized within the past two weeks for overly ambitious restoration reporting. Do their numbers hold true? Are you still without power? Your friends, neighbors? Businesses that are still waiting for restoration?

Tell us in the comments, and if you're still without power, call JCP&L at 888-544-4877.

What??? 5 houses in Belmar! That's ridiculous... pretty much everywhere east of B is still out of power including myself! I'm sure it's more like 500 - probably more!!

Power back in Glendola area @noon Sat---13 days later. "And the Lord said, 'on the 13th day (plus a few hours) there shall be light".
And by golly, He was correct.

I am in Belmar.........so far, my power is still out, as is the majority of houses east of B street on 12th ave......and 11th Ave, and 13th Ave........JCP& L lies.........Christie promised us power........what happened there. 11th, 12th and 13th avenues were NEVER under water.

JCP&L needs to be called out on these ridiculously low estimates. I agree with the post that pretty much east of B Street is still out, likely hundreds of homes, not 5 as they state. How do we let them know how wrong they are? This is beyond belief ineptitude.

No power east of the bridges in Manasquan!!

Really. Many in manasquan have not called thinking the power co would KNOW they are out. Ocean ave roger ave. beach areas. We were only told Sunday that we needed an electrical inspection. If we had been told a week ago it would have been done.

Agreed when we caled about getting power they asked him if he had reported an outage duh we are in Manasqusn beach how could they not know we were out of power????

Virtually everybody east of the bridges in Manasquan are still wih out power, and now the town has added another piecce of red tape, reqiring a town inspection before reconnection. Squan has handled this situation with a bully-like atmosphere, makeing things much tougher on owners trying to pick up the pieces.
