Belmar: Move Cars Parked from Ocean Ave. to C Street by Friday

Route 35 reopened to traffic in both directions

Belmar officials on Wednesday announced that all cars parked on roads from Ocean Avenue to C Street must be moved by 7 a.m. Friday morning. 

If not, they'll be towed, according to a release from the borough. 

"If your vehicle is under water please disregard this message as we will not be able to get to those Streets as of yet. Thank you for your cooperation," the release says.

In other car-related news, Route 35 has been reopened to traffic in both directions in Belmar, Mayor Matt Doherty tweeted Thursday morning. 

The borough is also looking for volunteers to help in the recovery effort.

All people looking to volunteer today can report to the Belmar Recreation gym at 601 Main Street at noon.

Donations of non-perishable food, water, gatorade and like drinks, flashlights and blankets are also being accepted.

"Thank you in advance for your generosity," the release says.
