$2.5 Million Plan To Renovate Manasquan High School Fields Approved

A $2.5 million plan to renovate the Manasquan High School athletic fields into an upgraded "Warrior Complex" was approved by the school board tonight.

The plan includes using the elementary campus for baseball and replacing the football field. A retaining wall to improve drainage is also part of the plan, based on designs developed in a master plan from 2012.

Board members Verdi, Walsh and Peterson voted no to the project. More than an hour of public debate ensued during the public session at the meeting. While speakers agreed a project was needed, some critics said they were concerned about the timing and cost, especially after Hurricane Sandy.
