Updated: 6,000 Without Power in Manasquan, Belmar

Residents, officials face aftermath of Hurricane Sandy

Nearly 6,000 customers in Manasquan and Belmar were without power Tuesday morning, according to JCP&L. 

The number of reported outages is the highest its been since the beginning of Hurricane Sandy's impact on the Jersey Shore. 

Gov. Chris Christie has called the devastation "unthinkable."

In Manasquan, 3,178 customers were without power as of 10:46 a.m. And in Belmar, 2,631 customers are in the dark, according to JCP&L.

Just next door in Wall Township, 12,057 customers are powerless.
