Manasquan Savings Bank Employees are Rising Stars in The Banking Industry

Lisa Colonno and Jennifer Weisert Designated as Rising Stars in the New Jersey Banking Industry

Manasquan, NJ (October 2013) – Each year, the New Jersey Banker’s Association and New Jersey Banker magazine honor the state’s rising stars in banking. This year, Manasquan Savings Bank is proud to have two of its own among the twelve statewide honorees. Selected by an independent committee, Leaders in Banking must meet a number of criteria – most importantly, making a notable impact within their bank and community, and being an outstanding employee, manager, or business leader.

Both Lisa Colonno, AVP and Branch Manager in Point Pleasant, and Jennifer Weisert , AVP and Branch Manager in Howell, rose to the high level of performance required for recognition this year.

“At Manasquan Savings Bank, we are committed to invest both in our community and in our team. Lisa and Jennifer are standout leaders, and it is fitting that they should be recognized for their continual drive and achievement,” says Bank President and CEO James S. Lisa Colonno has been with Manasquan Savings Bank since February 2002, when she joined the organization as an Assistant Branch Manager. Rising through the ranks to become AVP and Branch Manager in Point Pleasant, ambition has marked her approach since day one. Among her notable accomplishments is a 14.05% increase in the branch deposit base.  She made an early point to refine her accounting skills, and her operational savvy has been an ongoing bank asset.

This same level of commitment frames Lisa’s outside work, which includes active participation in the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and years as a coach and volunteer with area sports leagues, including BMAC basketball, Brick Little League, and the Brick Pop Warner Dragons. It is only fitting that she is the current Treasurer of the Brick Township High School Football Parents Organization.

Jennifer Weisert made her entry into the organization as a teller in 2000. She has now served as AVP and Branch Manager for more than 8 years, and plays a vital role in the implementation and training surrounding the bank’s growing roster of new products and services.  Actively committed to ongoing education, she has completed 7 Center for Financial Training (CFT) certifications and 5 CFT diplomas, and is a strong advocate for the power of continued learning among her team.

When not in class or at the branch, Jennifer is in the community, where she serves as Treasurer on the Executive Board of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. The organization named her citizen of the year in 2008. She is also a member of the Howell and Farmingdale Chambers, and actively volunteers throughout the area, including efforts with the 5K Race for Humanity and Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

Both Lisa and Jennifer will be honored as Leaders in Banking at a dinner and awards ceremony to be held at the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City on Tuesday, November 19.  The entire Manasquan Savings Bank team applauds this impressive accomplishment.
