Ribbon Is Cut For Leggett's Reopening

Mayor, council, state legislators join celebration Friday

A big step toward the return to normalcy in a post-Hurricane Sandy Manasquan came Friday with a snip of a ribbon.

Leggett's Sand Bar, the popular First Avenue bar, reopened to smiling regulars and a visit from local officials to kick off festivities at noon. Friday was the first day of business for the landmark bar since Hurricane Sandy's storm surge pushed feet of beach sand into the bar.

A ribbon cutting saw local and state officials join bar staff to officially open Leggett's.
