Belmar Health Fair Registration Open

Mayor's Wellness Campaign hosting free screenings, flu shots and more

Next month Belmar and Lake Como residents will be able to get free health screenings, flu shots and more at the Taylor Pavilion on Ocean Avenue in Belmar.

The Belmar and Lake Como Mayor's Wellness Campaigns (MWC) will partner to host the community's fifth free health fair on Sunday, Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a release from Belmar Council President Claire Deicke.

In addition to free health screening and flu shots, vendors will be on-hand offering health products and information booths, Deicke said.

The Belmar Woman's Club will be sponsoring a blood drive during the event, too, Deicke said.

"The MWC goal is to provide the community with basic information related to health and safety. In addition, the MWC will promote well health and preventative health care throughout the year," Deicke said.

The Belmar/Lake Como community was recently named a "healthy town" under the state's Mayor's Wellness Campaign, Deicke said.

Space at next month's health fair are limited, so prospective vendors are being asked to register in advance by completing the form attached to the PDF section of this brief by no later than Sept. 21.

There will be no charge to vendors, Deicke said.
