Boardwalk Ride Debris Washes Ashore

Third such report of debris on area beaches within a month

A piece of a boardwalk ride apparently washed ashore in Toms River, according to the Jersey Shore Hurricane News

The portion of what's believed to be a Seaside Heights amusement ride washed up Saturday on the township's Ocean Beach II section, according to the report.

This is the third ride debris recovered in Ocean County in less than a month, as objects recently were found in Seaside Park and Point Pleasant Beach.

Toms River officials said that the township's public beach was checked for debris before reopening this season following Superstorm Sandy and no significant items were found.
