Brian Lynch of Manasquan won a $50 gift certificate as one of the first three runners to sign up Thursday as on-site registration opened for Saturday's Belmar Chase 5K.

Henry DiPasquale of Cream Ridge, Sandi Gorlin of Brick, and Brian Lynch of Manasquan were the first three runners at Taylor Pavilion in Belmar on Thursday morning as on-site registration opened for Saturday’s Belmar Chase 5K.

“We’ve had a steady stream of runners come in all morning,” said Rich Kenah, a 2000 Olympian and race director of the Belmar Chase 5K and the Belmar Kids Chase, a series of age-group sprint races beginning at 6 p.m. Friday on the beach. “We’ll be open for business again on Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. so that our runners can avoid the rush on Saturday morning.”
