What's New Jersey's Best Arts Destination?

Which towns have the best theater, art museums and plays in New Jersey? You have until Jan. 22 to decide.

Several Jersey Shore area institutions were among those nominated for the fifth-annual JerseyArts.com "People's Choice" awards.

Online voting runs from Dec. 11 through Jan. 22.

Discover Jersey Arts is a partnership between the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and ArtPride New Jersey Foundation to increase awareness of and participation in the arts in the Garden State. Other participating organizations include the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, South Jersey Cultural Alliance, and New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism.

Even if you don't see your favorite listed, you can still try and write yours in. That's what MPAC general manager suggests.

MPAC General Manager Ed Kirchdoerffer also noted, "people can write in Morristown as 'Favorite Arts District.'"

"I would encourage everyone to vote for these awards. It's a wonderful way to recognize the arts in everyone's communities," Eric Hafen, artistic director at the Bickford Theatre, at the Morris Museum in Morris Township.
