Intro to Dyeing Classes

On Monday August 6th, Cowerks, the Asbury Park co-working community, will be hosting an “Intro to Dyeing” class. This 2 hours class session will give attendees all the tools they need to create home grown, hand dyed Tee’s.

Dyeing fabric and clothing is something fun and easy that you can do at home, but it can be a lot more sophisticated than your familiar tie-dyeing experience. Join our Intro to Dyeing session and leave with a few beautifully dyed, homemade threads! Coming to Cowerks this August

We will start the session off with some notable facts on dying and a brief explanation of the process. We'll go over natural and synthetic dyes, fabrics and many different methods that you can practice on your own. Then we get messy! We'll begin with dip dyeing, resist dyeing, and painting with bleach. Bring in any fabric you want to dye, from clothing to home decor or just scraps. Try to bring in both whites and colored fabrics so we can experiment. We’ll be providing a few blank Tee’s for you to make extraordinary finished products.
