Author Talking 'Karma' at BookTowne Friday

"The Poppy Lady" children's author scheduled to appear following weekend

in Manasquan on Friday, Sept. 14, will be hosting author Paul H. Magid, who will discuss his debut novel, Lifting the Wheel of Karma, organizers said. 

Magid plans to visit 500 book stores to spread the word of Karma, organizers said.

He'll appear from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Here's a brief synopsis of the novel, according to the author's official website:

"Joseph Connell is a gifted high school athlete, loved deeply by his family, yet tormented by nightmarish visions he can neither explain nor escape.

The following weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 22, children's author Moina Michael, known as "The Poppy Lady," will be at the store to promote awareness of Vetern's Day and the meaning of the poppy flower, organizers said. 

Her launch party will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., organizers said. 

Poppy flowers will be given out, organizers said.
