Health in Motion, located at 524 Westfield Ave., opened its door to residents Monday as a warming center and will serve as another drop-off point for those also collecting for victims in Union Beach.

From Patricia Dulinski:

My law firm, Dulinski & Liberty, LLP is located in Westfield and we are working with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation located at 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY in delivering supplies directly to the residents of Staten Island whose homes were flooded and have been without power since Sandy hit.

Among the greatest needs they have identified are the shortages of winter coats and blankets in addition to baby wipes, diapers, formula and cleaning supplies.

I spent a day there with my daughter Megan this week and there is a palpable sense of fear that the residents who have been afraid to leave their storm ravaged homes will perish in the cold this week. This is a unique organization in that they are getting donations into the hands of the residents who need it the most within hours of receiving them. Tunnel to Towers is organized and they know where help is needed most. The residents cannot wait weeks for FEMA assitance. There is an immediate turn around at Tunnel to Towers, unlike the chaos I've seen at other donation drop-off points. We want to get relief there before the next storm, hence the urgency.

We are sending U-Hauls filled with supplies to Staten Island later this evening and will send another truck to the Jersey Shore on Friday. We really need coats and blankets today. We are collecting donations at our office located at 226 St. Paul Street in Westfield.
