Major Roadways Faced Flooding in Tuesday Thunderstorm

Road flooding and blown transformers were among the known issues in the area Tuesday, with major highways including the Garden State Parkway off-ramps in Monmouth County affected by a severe thunderstorm which began that morning.

Here were some of the issues from Tuesday:

Two lanes are blocked due to flooding on Garden State Parkway Southbound at Exit 98 NJ-138. South of there, an accident near Route 549 exit with flooding has been reported northbound before 11:30 a.m.

Flooding was also reported near the Wall Executive Airport. The right lane was closed as of 11 a.m.at Route 34 in both directions. 

As of 11:19 a.m., there's flooding on Route 35 northbound near Route 10/Washington Ave. in Point Pleasant Beach. All lanes closed; use caution. There's also flooding along Route 88 and Route 35 in Point Pleasant Beach.
