The Weekend's Best Nightlife

A look at the best in Jersey Shore nightlife for the weekend of May 6 to May 8

If you're looking to save a few bucks without compromising fun, read our suggestions below for weekend drink specials and local live entertainment.

The newest edition in town, Portuguese Shamrock, which was formerly the Draughting Table, is an Irish pub with a Portuguese inspired menu. There is currently no live entertainment, but check out a few of these dinner specials:

  • Friday and Saturday: Appetizer- “Berbigao a Alho" - New Zealand Clams in a Green Sauce. Entree- “Prime Rib a Pompeu” -Prime Rib topped with butter and lemon.
  • Sunday: There will be a special Mother’s Day menu consisting of a variety of select appetizers, soups, salads, and entrees. 


Harrigan’s Pub, 703 Baltimore Blvd., Sea Girt

“Failze,” or “welcome” has been the slogan at this pub since 1981. A cozy, yet bustling place, Harrigan’s provides good times all around.

  • Saturday: Live entertainment with Rockin' Randy and Turnpike Mike. 


Edgar’s is a great family spot for dinner, and also a party haven in the summer. With weekend entertainment, twelve big screen tvs, and late night DJs, you can see why this pub would get packed.

  • Friday: Live entertainment with Raising Cain.
  • Saturday: DJ Big D.


Leggett’s Sand Bar is one of the most popular and bustling clubs at the Shore. Their daily drink specials are usually some of the best.

  • Friday: $2.00 happy hour from 4-8pm and $2.00 Coors Light from noon to closing. Status Green will be performing live at 10pm.
  • Saturday: Prime rib night from 5-10pm with $2.00 Bud and Bud Lights all day. Overboard will be performing live at 10pm.


Boathouse, 1309 Main St, Belmar

The mother of all shore bars, Boathouse is nautically-themed haven for surfers and beach-goers. They have killer drink specials and nightly entertainment.

  • Friday: Open to 6pm: $1.75 domestic drafts, $2.50 domestic bottles, $3.50 premium drafts.  6pm-close: $2.50 Bud and Bud Lights, $4.00 rum and cokes. Live entertainment begins at 9pm.
  • Saturday: Open to 4pm: $4.00 Bloody Marys, $3.00 Miller Lite bottles. 6pm to close: $3.00 Sam Adams drafts and $4.00 Three Olives drinks. 


507 is nothing fancy, but thats why we love it. They have an amazing happy hour, a great back room with live music and late night DJs, and a tv-lined bar to watch all the big games.

  • Thursday - Saturday: All beers are $2.50 from 4 to 7pm. Live entertainment in back room Friday and Saturday nights.
