11 Locations In Manasquan Approved For Liquor License; Leggett's Criticized

The Manasquan Council on Monday renewed liquor licenses for 11 businesses - though Leggett's Sand Bar's request was criticized.

"I complained about this issue last year and nothing was done so here I am again," exclaimed Reininger.

Residents noted locations that bring live entertainment typically stop their performances by 10 p.m., except Leggett's Sand Bar.
"The live entertainment that every other location brings ends at 10 p.m. so Leggett's Sand Bar should end at 10 p.m. instead of 11 p.m.," said Reininger.

Reininger said he lives in a residential area in Manasquan and thinks 10 p.m. is understandable for ending the entertainment.
Concerns arose in the room, eliciting a response from the chief of police in Manasquan.
"We have not received any complaints about this particular location and their entertainment," argued Chief Elliott Correia.
Marilyn Jacobson, Manasquan resident, also complained about this particular issue. "At 11 p.m., I can still hear the music from my house," said Jacobson.
Besides Leggetts, the council approved licenses for the following:
Manasquan Beach House, Edgar's Pub, BPOE Manasquan Lodge 2534, Maria's Colonial Inn, Manasquan Liquors, Osprey Hotel, Remington's, Squan Tavern, VFW Post 1838 and Spirit of '76.
