While gray skies and hard rain kept most residents indoors on Tuesday, surfers came out in droves to test the surf at area beaches.

After what many consider a lackluster winter surfing season, early spring showed the locals some love as winds went off-shore in the late morning hours.

While the swell wasn't as big as predicted, stand out spots saw waves in the four to six foot range with occasional larger sets.
