Manasquan Charity To Receive $25,000 Grant

A Manasquan charity is the recipient of a large grant from a local bank intended assist families recovering from Hurricane Sandy, bank officials said.

A presentation of the $25,000 grant to the Vic Kubu Long Blue Line is scheduled to take place Friday afternoon at the Wall branch of OceanFirst Bank, on Route 34. 

The Vic Kubu Long Blue Line, named after the famed Manasquan High School football coach, was set up to help families of the Manasquan High School sending districts affected by Hurricane Sandy.

OceanFirst Foundation’s Relief and Recovery Grant Program assists the efforts of nonprofit organizations in the New Jersey shore that are helping local families and individuals affected by Hurricane Sandy, according to a OceanFirst release.

OceanFirst Foundation previously awarded grants to Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey, Toms River; Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton (Emergency Services), Lakewood; Children’s Home Society, Toms River; Community Services Inc., Lakewood; the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Neptune; Homes for All, Toms River; National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Oakhurst; O.C.E.A.N., Inc., Toms River; Ocean Fire Co. #1, Point Pleasant Beach; St. Francis Center, Brant Beach, United Way of Monmouth County, Farmingdale and the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Red Bank. This brings the total amount awarded through the Relief and Recovery Grant Program to $302,500.
