Last Fundraisers Before Parade

Weekend events lead up to St. Patty's Parade

It's almost here. Sunday's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Belmar and Lake Como is set to kick off at 12:30 p.m., but organizers still have a few fundraisers planned for the weekend leading up to the Irish celebration.

On Friday, The Riverview Pavilion in Belmar will host "An Evening of Irish Culture." The program begins with traditional Irish music followed by "old timing," foot-stomping American music with Irish roots. Performances will be by Trinity Band, Thomas Wesley Stern Band and Round the House Band.

Tickets are $60 to March 1. No tickets will be sold at the door. Includes hors d'ouevres, hot and cold buffet, two-hour open bar, coffee, tea and desserts.  Tickets can be purchased through the parade website; click on "An Evening of Irish Culture."

On Saturday, St. Rose Church will host the 27th Annual Investiture Mass at 10 a.m.

Principal Celebrant will be Msgr. Edward J. Arnister, pastor of St. Rose Church, and the Parade Grand Marshal & Deputy Grand Marshal are John Carr of Belmar, and Jane Guild of Wall, respectively. Both will be formally .

Immediately following the Mass will be a luncheon at Doolan’s Shore Club, on Route 71 in Spring Lake Heights.

The luncheon donation is $30.  Tickets are available at The Irish Centre, Third Avenue, Spring Lake. For more information call (732) 449-6650.
