Labor Day Weekend's Best Nightlife

A look at the best in Jersey Shore nightlife for the weekend of Sept. 2 to Sept. 5

The weekend that marks the near end of summer's heat is here, but we've still got some time to soak up that warm air and enjoy the local treatment on our shores. Below are some of the most sought-out destinations for the long Labor Day weekend.

One of the biggest and wildest shore clubs, Bar A has a wide spread of sand bars, cabanas, tiki bars, and club floors. It is the place to be all summer long.

  • Friday: $2.75 Bud and Bud Lights and $2.00 drinks from 9 to 11 p.m., plus award winning happy hour with $2.25 pints from 4 to 9 p.m. with DJ Billy Reybert and DJ Mike. Free admission until 9 p.m. DJ Redline on Grotto Beach at 9 p.m. Live music inside with Almost Easy at 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: Famous Dance Party from 9 to 11:30 p.m. with $2.75 Amstel and Heinekens. DJ Billy Reybert on Grotto Beach 9 p.m. to close with happy hour from 2 to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday: Wett party on Grotto Beach from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with outdoor dance floor, VIP cabanas, bottle service, and specials on seafood and raw bar. Seafood Sundays with all you can eat snow crabs starting at 1 p.m. Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez & License to Chill at 6 p.m. 30th Anniversary Party with Nick Clemons Band tribute to Clarence Clemons at 8 p.m.

Named after a park in Dublin, this enchanting pub and Irish restaurant is one of the most authentic in the state. There are daily menu specials and weekend live entertainment.

  • Saturday: Live music with Green Underground at 9:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: The Bantry Boys at 6 p.m.

Parker House, First Ave & Beacon Blvd, Sea Girt

Operating in their 134th summer, The Parker House is nothing short of a shore institution. This historic spot attracts party-goers as well as families, and has a raw bar, daily drink specials, and late night entertainment.

  • Friday: 3 to 6 p.m. $3 well drinks and $3.50 import pints. DJ Chopper kicks off the dance party downstairs at 7 p.m. and DJ George spins upstairs at 7 p.m. Downstairs band is Gypsy Wisdom at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Old # 7 upstairs at 3p.m., DJ George at 7p.m. Pat Roddy downstairs band at 7:30p.m. Downstairs band Generation Next at 7:30p.m.
  • Sunday: Todd Robbins downstairs at 3 p.m.; DJ George at 7 p.m.

You can’t avoid the reputation this ocean side club has for fist-pumping parties and MTV’s Jersey stereotypes. But, you also can’t deny that you’ve always had a memorable night here. With a can’t-beat location and wild parties, D’Jais is a must-do in the summer.

  • Friday: Labor Day Afternoon Work Party starting at 4 p.m. with World Famous Happy Hour with the famous buffet and Coors Light prize wheel, no cover. Music by DJ Charlie Cavallo & DJ Mike Vecchia.. $2.00 Coors Light, $3.50 Blue Moons, $4.00 vodka drinks, $12.00 Coronita bucks, and shot specials.
  • Saturday: Kipples Beach Party from 3 to 8 p.m. with $3.00 Bud Lights, $10.00 buckets of rocks shot specials and music by DJ Robbie O. Bonsolid’s The Mix with John Farruggio, Glenn Friscia and The Riddler at 9 p.m.
  • Sunday Funday: Off the Beach Happy Hour starting from 3 to 8 p.m. with DJ Charlie Cavallo. $3.50 Bud and Bud Light bottles, $12.00 buckets of Coronitas and $10.00 buckets of Rocks.  Chris Moody at 9 p.m. and late night with Joe Giorgio & Kipples.
  • Labor Day: Labor Day “Survivor Party” from noon to 2 p.m. Happy hour from 3 to 8 p.m. and “In the Biz” specials from 5 to 2 a.m.  

Leggett’s is one of the most popular and bustling clubs at the Shore. Their daily drink specials are usually some of the best.

  • Friday: $2.00 happy hour from 4-8p.m. and $2.50 Miller Lites from noon to midnight.  Turnpike Mike and Randy on the patio starting at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: Lee and Sherry on the patio from 1 to 5 p.m. Bud Bingo from 2 to 5 p.m. Prime rib night from 5 to 10 p.m. with $2.50 Bud and Bud Lights all day. $5.00 Jack Daniels Honey drinks from noon to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday: Live entertainment on the patio at 2 p.m. Under Pressure at 10 p.m. $2.50 Bud and Bud Lights from noon to close.
