Your Guide to a great weekend in the Manasquan-Belmar area

Here's a look at a few great events happening this weekend!

Saturday

Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweeps — The non-profit organization is hosting clean-ups of beaches throughout the state. For more information and to find the site of a clean-up near you, click .

Lake Como 5K — The Jersey Shore Runner's Club will host their annual Lake Como 5K. The race starts at 10 a.m. at Bar Anticipation and there will be a post-race party.

Spring Arts and Crafts Festival — The Manasquan Chamber of Commerce has set their annual Spring Arts and Crafts Festival for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held in the Squan Plaza on Abe Vorhees Drive.

Sunday

Belmar Safety Day — The Belmar Police and Fire departments will hold Belmar Safety Day on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The two departments will be teaching children about safety while doing such activities as biking, surfing and skateboarding. The event will be held at Dempsey Park on 16th Avenue.

100th Anniversary of the Union Fire Company — The Belmar Historical Council is celebrating the anniversary of the Union Fire Company with tours of the historic fire station. The event is being held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Union Fire Company on 9th Avenue and E Street.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 61. Northwest wind around 14 mph. 

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. North wind around 8 mph. 

Sunday: A slight chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming south between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
