World Mission Society Church of God Members Build Playgrounds at Manasquan Elementary School

For MLK National Day of Service, World Mission Society Church of God volunteers built Manasquan Elementary School's playground.

When parents drop off their children at Manasquan Elementary School, they are still reminded of the effects Superstorm Sandy had on the community. Due to the storm, not only did hundreds of families in the area lose their homes, but also children lost a part of their childhood as the high winds tore down their playground.

On MLK National Day of Service, NY/NJ Superbowl Host Committee provided the materials to rebuild the school’s playground. The World Mission Society Church of God brought the manpower to put the structures into place.

About 20 volunteers worked under the direction of Jersey Cares to cement everything into place. John DonVito, site leader, commented, “The unity was amazing, the give back from the community was amazing, and everyone here was such a great worker, I’d take them on any site I ever work again.”
