The 2012 Festival of the Sea will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sat., Sept. 15, in the downtown section of Arnold and Bay avenues, which will be closed, in Point Pleasant Beach.

The event features a wide array of seafood and landlubber food alike, beverages, craft vendors, a wine garden, games, arts and crafts and pony rides for the kids and live, musical entertainment.

Admission is free, but visitors pay for food, beverages and pony rides.

The rain date is Sunday.

The event usually draws large crowds so, if you're not going to go early in the morning, you might want to consider one of a few different, free shuttle buses that will be running back and forth from noon to 7 p.m.
