I hope the beach replenishment does not change the surf for our world renown surfing spot. Lots ofRead Morer esearch on the dangers to people with the potential changes in wave breaks and the risk to people. Good luck.

I have disagreed very largely with the lack of charity involved in many of your posts. However IRead Moream in complete agreement over the completely callous and cynical way young people have been exploited by the financialization of the education industry. It is utterly shameful and borderline criminal that graduates with poor job prospects are being anchored with debt that by all appearances will take several decades to pay off. Even worse is the inability to discharge this debt through bankruptcy filing. I agree totally that this should be dealt with; we should be protecting young people not well fed middle aged bankers.

Hey Joe, Glad we can agree on something. What you wrote is so true and well said. Government isRead MoreLo cal Government. If we want to make a difference in how we are represented by our Government, we must get out and vote in Congressional elections and know the values and voting record of our Congressman. Do they represent our values and have they voted accordingly? We also have the right to call our Congressman and let them know when we are not happy and it is their job to meet and listen to their constituents, us. We believe that Smith stopped listening some time ago. He has done some good stuff for Vets but his fanatical obsession with overturning a women's right to choose has gotten in the way of his governing. He is up for re- election in November and perhaps District 4 will feel it's time for some change.

@CWK above you're complaining about a "voting majority" so it doesn't seem to matter if 3 Read Morepeople left the Board and 3 new one's joined, does it? Why don't you get on the BOE so things can be done the right way.

Voting out council members doesn't work anyway. When a good candidate is elected, one who actuallyRead Morec ares about reducing spending and waste, the rest of them shoot down every proposal he or she makes, alway trying to make them look bad in the process, aided by the local media I may add. Voicing your opinions at the borough council meetings doesn't help either. Those who do are treated in a condescending manner, heads turned, talking over you, ignoring your concerns. After awhile, you realize it's pointless.

Amen, my friend. I've lived in the area my entire life. I'm 57 and grew up in Baywood. Bought aRead Morehome there after marriage and moved to Sea Meadows (around the corner. _ Yes, flood insurance ontop of ever increasing taxes. It's hard for a family with even moderate to good income to hold on much longer. I hope this new government will realize that increasing our ratables will only make this matter worse. For those of you who haven't disputed your assessed value, do so now! you have until tomorrow to get it done and post marked. It's the only way to keep the lid on your situation, in an honest and fair manner. Good luck to all.
