Is 'Ego' Good or Bad?

Ego—I’m not giving up, I say!

Well, what I mean is ‘never give up on you!’ That’s when Ego is doing something good for us!

That’s right! After a day like these last two days- of feeling, in a place of LOVE (which is always a good thing) my inner being was telling me today, that something about- That thing about ego- in the past post, just didn't feel right and I felt I had to do some more research.

But sometimes this research has to be done with our own ‘inner voice.’…The intuitive part of ourselves that has all the answers.

Something to think about today...:-)

Is 'Ego' Good or Bad

Who's right, who's wrong?

Abraham Hicks, Eckhard Tolle, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra...And the list goes on and on.

Is there a right or wrong answer? Or is it, we need to take all of it into consideration, and come up with what our own 'inner voice' feels is the best answer for us?....Hummm

“Sometimes the best answer to a question is another question. Is it not by asking questions that we stimulate each other to reach more deeply into our own source and, thereby, approach the Source, both together and in our different ways? (7)”
― Jean-Yves Leloup, Compassion and Meditation: The Spiritual Dynamic between Buddhism and Christianity

"The most common ego identifications have to do with possessions, the work you do, social status and recognition, knowledge and education, physical appearance, special abilities, relationships, person and family history, belief systems, and often nationalistic, racial, religious, and other collective identifications. None of these is you.”
― Eckhart Tolle

“The ego relies on the familiar. It is reluctant to experience the unknown, which is they very essence of life.”
― Deepak Chopra, The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore

“Great people have great egos; maybe that's what makes them great.”
― Paul Arden Michael Allen Pearson

2nd video--Eckhard Tolle--Are Thoughts The Source of Ego?

So....How about, we just decide for ouselves, once we look at it--Seeing with new eyes? :-)

Is there really any disagreement here? Or could they all be saying the same thing in a different way? One. might be talking about an aspect of the 'problem' and then the other seems to be speaking about seeing no problem- no darkeness in oursleves. Being at peace-in agreement with all parts of ourself.

Maybe using a combination of all of this -along with the fact that we are our best teachers, could be the perfect answer?

“Change your thinking, your interpretation of he world, change the way you see! To change the way you see is to change the world. (50)”
Jean-Yves Leloup, Compassion and Meditation: The Spiritual Dynamic between Buddhism and Christianity

Wishing you a day filled with- believing that everything is exactly as it is suppose to be:-) ~♥ྀ ☮~. L ღ Ve * & *☼ * ♥ (((( Big Hugs )))) ♥ Tina R. ♥ ~~♥ (*◡*)

Without ego we'd all just be passive drones, unrecognizable from anyone else.

We ARE ego.

Sweeeeet....I like that! We ARE ego:-) Makes me think of all the times I say, how boring life would be if we were all the same-without different 'personalities.' Thank you so much for sharing (bayboat)...Love to you ~ Have a great weekend!

Tina, Have you read "Dying To Be Me" by Anita Moorjani? She had a Near Death Experience and in her book a question is asked of her about the ego. To quote one para, "We're all born with an ego---it's a natural part of who we are here. We're only completely without it in death. Fighting against this during life only creates more self-judgment. Plus, only when we love our ego unconditionally are we able to accept everyone else's. This is when it stops being an issue, and your humility and magnificence really shine through." I love this book. For me, personally, her experience really rings true. At least for now. :)

Hi Marge, no I didn't read it, but I had to go check it out on Amazon.com after what your note here. :-) I got a few tidbits from the great reviews- that I really resonate with completely -Anita says-"DO WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR YOU, DON'T DO WHAT DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT FOR YOU, everything else in life is secondary. ----"If you think you need to work hard at being spiritual then you haven't got it yet."---And also this----During her NDE Anita awakened to a heightened state of awareness which allowed her to understand why she had cancer....Marge, I've always believed wholeheartedly (from my own experiences) that are body heals naturally, but mainly, that we first need to take care of our mind before anything else-our 'thinking'--keeping 'it healthy' is a preventative approach to all 'dis-ease' but when/if it is already there- it's a wake-up call to learn 'why' it came, if you know what I mean:-)

Cont. I went over my allotted word count-hehe~
Even though I haven't done much 'book' reading in the past 7 years or so--I am in awe... As I am still looking through the book on Amazon-Many of the reasons why she wrote her book-is much of what I've already stated for my own inspirational memoirs of my book, as I see this is as a sign from you Marge, not only to keep me writing, but also, since I haven't seen the part about the ego- I might have to go read it! I like to call people like you 'human angels' that sometimes come to us at unexpected times. So thank you for your continued comments--I'm sure whatever we might say here- will spiral collectively- to inspire others-in some unique way, as it just did for me :-) Sometimes, as she said also, when we tell a bit of our stories its not always because we need to talk about ourselves-but that it may help someone else- discover their own truths within themselves. Thanks again, for all you said-it's always wonderful when we find a book that really rings true for us-it all makes perfect sense...Just be yourself!! Much love to you Marge!
