Auto Repair Shop Conditionally Approved
Manasquan Planning Board unanimously approves East Main Street transmission shop
The Manasquan Planning Board on Tuesday conditionally approved an application for an automobile repair service on East Main Street.
In Gear Transmission, LLC, owner Dean Kiaschko received unanimous approval from the board for his transmission and differential repair shop, to be located at an 8000-square-foot facility at 202 E. Main St.
The application was approved by a 7-0 vote on condition the property owner, Diane Litwin, would patch up potholes at the site and arrange for a written agreement with the neighboring property owner that shares ownership of the parking lot with her. In addition, Kiaschko had to agree that he would not have more than five cars on site for repairs at any given time.
Kiaschko, who currently has a repair shop in Spring Lake Heights, said the new facility would have two employees, including himself, and typically be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the hearing, board members were most concerned with parking at the site, which Kiaschko said could accomodate eight cars.
Litsko said that she and the adjacent property owner had a verbal agreement to split a parking lot with six spaces, but board members wanted her to get the deal in writing.
