Squan Boys Fall to Neptune in SCT Semis

70-41 loss ends Cinderella Shore Conference Tournament run

The Manasquan High School boys basketball team lost their Shore Conference Tournament Semifinals game against Neptune 70-41 on Wednesday night, reports Scott Stump of All Shore Media.

The Warriors, who were down 39-17 at halftime, turned the ball over 12 times in just the first two quarters, Stump tweeted.

Neptune will go on to play Colts Neck in the Shore Conference Championship on Friday at Monmouth University.

That caps a Cinderella run for the 10th-seeded Warriors who knocked off #2 ranked Lakewood at Sunday's quarterfinals and 7th-seeded Lacey last week.

In a field that began with 32 teams, the Warriors were able to achieve the unlikely feat of reaching the tournament's final four considering the tough road they traveled to get there.

Now the attention turns to the girls teams of Manasquan and St. Rose, who will face-off Friday night in the girls Shore Conference Championship at Monmouth University.

The last time those two teams played they were both still undefeated, but Manasquan came out on top in front of St. Rose's home crowd by a score of 43-39.

Manasquan's All-American Michaela Mabrey will not only be going for a conference title but also has a chance to score 2000 career points. She is just 18 shy.
