Spring Lake Police Respond to Two Motor Vehicle Accidents
Several residents along Atlantic and Monmouth Avenues lose power when telephone pole is struck.
Spring Lake police are investigating two motor vehicle accidents that occurred in the borough Saturday.
Residents of a portion of Atlantic and Monmouth Avenues lost power at approximately 2:45 p.m. when a motor vehicle struck a telephone pole near the intersection with 2nd Avenue.
The driver and a child, who was a passenger in the vehicle, were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, police said.
The child complained of an ankle injury. The adult, the child's mother, suffered minor injuries. A second child was not injured.
Police did not identify the driver who they said is a resident of the borough.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Patrolman Ryan Reiff, at 732-449-1234.
The second incident occurred at approximately 9 a.m. when a Pennsylvania man ran a stop sign at the corner of St. Clair and 5th Avenue, according to police.
The driver who was hit was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with a neck injury.
The Pennsylvania man, who police did not identify, was issued a summons.
