The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for much of the area including Monmouth County as of 8:05 a.m. today.
The warning is in effect until 8:45 on Monday morning. There is also a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 2 p.m. A line of severe storms are moving through the area, with winds in excess of 60 miles per hour as the storm moves northeast.
Large hail is possible in some areas, with frequent lightning hitting the ground. Be aware of flooding in the area, and residents are advised to take caution if driving is necessary.
