Police: Man Stole $22,500 in Checks in Bradley Beach
Allegedly forged signatures and deposited checks at TD Bank
A Neptune man made his initial appearance in Superior Court on Wednesday facing charges he stole more than $22,000 worth of checks in Bradley Beach, forged signatures and deposited them at a local bank, documents show.
Jarred K. Harvey, 22, on Feb. 4 allegedly conspired with another individual to facilitate the theft of five checks worth $22,500 from two victims and then deposited them in a TD Bank branch, the criminal complaint shows.
Harvey and the other unnamed individual allegedly stole checks worth $5500, $4500 and $4500 from one victim, and two worth $3500 each from another, the complaint shows.
Harvey appeared before Judge John G. Colannino in Freehold on Wednesday, court records show. His bail was set at $60,000 with no 10 percent option, the complaint shows.
Harvey faces two counts of theft and two counts of forgery, the complaint shows. All are third-degree crimes.
