Alleged Belmar Car Burglars Indicted
Perth Amboy pair allegedly invaded five cars late last year
Two Perth Amboy men were indicted last week in Monmouth County Superior Court for allegedly burglarizing several cars in Belmar in October.
Armando Maldonado, 34, and Kelvin Munoz Alvarez, 27, face 10 counts stemming from an Oct. 20 incident in which they allegedly damaged car windows and made off with electronics from several cars in the borough, the indictment shows.
According to the joint indictment handed up by a Freehold grand jury, the men allegedly used a radio to intercept police and other emergency communications while on their burglary spree of five cars.
The men allegedly caused $1500 in pecuniary damages from breaking car windows and were caught with just more than $200 in electronics, the indictment shows.
Both men face five counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of fourth degree criminal mischief, one count of fourth-degree receiving stolen property, and a count of possession of a radio to intercept emergency communications while committing or attempting to commit a crime, a fourth-degree charge.
