Manasquan's Independence Day Parade, Fireworks Set for July 3
Asbury Park, Bradley Beach holding fireworks later in the week; Belmar's July 13
Independence Day is less than a week away, and Manasquan plans to celebrate with a July 3 parade and fireworks display sponsored by the Tourism Commission.
The parade, scheduled to commence at 6:30 p.m. from the Coast Guard Station, will lead revelers from First Avenue south to Whiting, east to Beachfront, and north to Main Beach, where a ceremony and fireworks will follow, the memo says.
The ceremony, scheduled for 7 p.m., will include the singing of the National Anthem, speakers Chairman Ray Summers and Mayor George Dempsey, and Tourism's recognition of this year's honoree, Manasquan Hook & Ladder Co. #1 for their 125 years of dedicated service to the borough, the memo says.
Billy Lawlor will entertain the crowd until the fireworks display set for roughly 9 p.m., the memo says.
The rain date is July 7.
Belmar's fireworks, presented by the Goodwill Fire Company, are scheduled for the following week, to be held 9 p.m. July 13 at Seventh Avenue beach, officials said. The rain date is July 14.
