NJ Transit Deliveries Continue This Weekend

Railroad crossings will be temporarily closed

Since they didn't finish the job as expected last weekend, NJ Transit will try to complete their rail deliveries this weekend, according to a release.

NJ Transit will deliver new rails from Belmar to Bayhead on Saturday and Sunday for a track replacement project scheduled for this spring.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, between 18th Avenue and Wall Road, NJ Transit will unload new rail materials along inbound Track 2, skipping ahead to Beacon Boulevard, which straddles Spring Lake Heights and Sea Girt, the release says.

The deliveries should be completed in Bay Head by the end of the day, the release says.

On Sunday, beginning at 7 a.m. on outbound Track 1 between 18th Avenue and Wall Road the train will begin unloading track, the release says.

The 18th Avenue railroad crossing should be the only one in Belmar blocked by the deliveries, the release says.

After that, the train will back up to 17th Avenue and then continue south toward Bay Head, the release says.

The trains should be completely unloaded between Spring Lake and Sea Girt, the release says.

NJ Transit will deliver another set of track materials in February, the release says.
