A Manasquan man last week was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, authorities said. 

Jose Guerro, 54, of Taylor Avenue, was arrested Sept. 18 on East Main Street and charged with DWI, according to a release from the Manasquan Police Department. 

Patrolman Thomas Morton made the arrest. 

That brings this month's total of DWI arrests in the borough to three, according to police records. 

Police over the weekend also arrested an Aberdeen resident on charges of simple assault, the release says. 

Anthony Mineo, 30, was arrested Sunday on Riverside Drive, the release says. 

Patrolman Keith Smith made the arrest. 

No other arrests were reported taking place between Sept. 16 and Sept. 23.
