Due to the devastation from Hurricane Sandy, officials this week canceled the Turkey Trot race in Manasquan. 

The popular five-mile race and one-mile fun run takes participants through the beachfront area, which was battered by the storm. 

This would have been the trot's 30th year. 

Anyone who registered is asked to keep their race numbers for a t-shirt pickup at a future date. A post-race party also will be held.

Money raised will be donated to the borough's volunteer organizations.
