A Manalapan man was indicted by a grand jury this week on theft and drug charges stemming from an incident this summer in which he drove a stolen car through Keyport and Spring Lake Heights, documents say.

Eugene Lanzaro, 47, on Aug. 3 allegedly brought the car, belonging to an individual identified only as "A.G.," into the state with direct knowledge or reason to believe that it was stolen, according to an indictment signed by Monmouth County Prosecutor Peter E. Warshaw, Jr. 

Lanzaro is being charged with third-degree theft by taking/receiving movable property, the indictment says.

Authorities also found Lanzaro in possession of oxycodone without a prescription in Spring Lake Heights, the indicement says.

Lanzaro faces third-degree posession of a controlled dangerous substance, the indictment says.
