Drunken Driving Arrests in Belmar
Borough closes last week of tourism season with several arrests
The final week of the summer tourism season was a busy one for Belmar police, as authorities reported several arrests including two for drunken driving.
Police during the final week of August charged two men, including one Belmar resident, with DWI, according to a release from the Belmar Police Department.
Overall, between Aug. 27 and Sept. 9, borough police made 35 arrests, the release says.
Improper behavior was the most common charge, according to the release.
Police during that two week time period charged the following individuals with DWI:
- Michael Portalatin, 23, of Union, was arrested Aug. 29 at 16th Avenue and Highway 71. Special Officer Brandon Cox made the arrest.
- Vincent Fronzuti, 46, of Belmar, was arrested Aug. 31 at 10th Avenue and Highway 71. Special Officer Christopher Inglis made the arrest.
