'Belmarpalooza' to Rock for Sandy Relief

Boathouse and 507 Main hosts bands all weekend with proceeds aiding storm victims

Area bands will rock Belmar this weekend to raise money for local Sandy victims.

"Belmarpalooza" kicks off tonight and lasts all weekend at Belmar favorites The Boathouse and 507 Main, which will host numerous acts while asking for donations to aid in Sandy recovery.

"We really want to help families that are struggling post Hurricane Sandy to have a great Christmas and holiday season with their kids," said owner Matt Harmon.

A $15 donation (purchased at either location) will get attendees 2 free drink tickets, free pizza at 507, 50-cent wings at the Boathouse Friday and Saturday night from 10 p.m. til closing and all day Sunday. The donation also comes with a raffle ticket.

Attendees also are asked to bring an unwrapped toy at any point this weekend, which will be distributed to ailing families in Belmar, Lake Como and beyond. Ticket sale proceeds also will supplement the gift campaign, as organizers will provide gift cards to families to be used at outlets such as Toys R Us, Target, etc.

The E Street Shuffle will play at Boathouse tonight, while 507 Main welcomes DJ AK. Pat Roddy performs Saturday at Boathouse, and 507 will feature DJ Kel and Joe Baracata.

But the music really gets rolling Sunday, when bands will play for hours at 507, which also will feature DJs Jersey and AK all day in the front bar.

Sunday's schedule at 507 is as follows:

  • 3:30 p.m.: The Groove
  • 4:30 p.m.: Blame it on Richie
  • 5:30 p.m.: Joe Baracata
  • 6:30 p.m.: The Snakes
  • 7:30 p.m.: Mike Dalton and Rory Daniels
  • 8:30 p.m.: Pat Roddy
